Behavioral Healthcare

Behavioral health problems such as mental illness and substance abuse are some of the most serious public health problems facing our communities. Students will be introduced to treatment approaches as well as challenges in organizing, financing, delivering and delivering mental health services. Students are expected to demonstrate behavior consistent with the professional standards and values of the profession. Students wishing to pursue a career in this field should be aware that fingerprinting, background checks, and drug testing may be required to work in this field. Failure to pass one of these checks may result in the student being expelled from the main specialty. Students may be responsible for any associated costs.
