Genetics BSc

Practical learning and laboratory experience starts in year one. Your lab skills will improve further in year three with a year long research project. This is a great opportunity to contribute to real research carried out in Life Sciences and will train you for a future research or industry career. Guidance is provided by a research-active supervisor and you may work alongside a research group in the University. Some students have even had their work published in scientific journals. Our courses are very flexible, with the option to transfer between life science courses at the end of year one. It’s also possible to switch to an integrated master's course (MSci) from a BSc course, depending on your grades. Our range of optional modules in 2nd and 3rd year allows for a unique course that's tailored to your interests.

IB of 34 is required, including 5/6 in biology and another science subject at Higher Level. For 2021 entry, the application fee is 20 GBP for a single choice, or 26 GBP for more than one choice. This program only accepts candidates who have completed 12 years of school education. Requirements may differ depending on the country you are located in. Otherwise, you are advised to complete 1 year of Bachelor's degree in your country or choose between International Foundation and International Year One programs.
