Masters in Conference Interpreting Program, a European Union Centre of Excellence, is designed based on the European Masters in Conference Interpreting framework (EMCI), and the interpreting training criteria of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC). The program observes the norms of the EU institutions supporting the program and AIIC norms. The program has two objectives. Bearing in mind Turkey’s status as a candidate country, the first is to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge for them to work as conference interpreters in the know of the European Union, its standards and its functioning. The second is to give students insight into interpreting methodologies and theories in view of combining their field expertise with an appetite for interpreting studies, a rapidly evolving field. Students enrolled in the program are instructed by professional accredited conference interpreters working for EU institutions, visiting professional conference interpreters from EU institutions, and field experts in professional conference interpreting premises designed for training purposes.

IELTS required - 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each section. (IELTS score sheet should be sent directly from the test center to Bilkent University)
