The joint VATEL-FIU International Hotel Management is designed to educate leaders and managers who are capable of adapting to change in the rapidly developing business World of tourism and hospitality, who capable of critical thinking and problem solving, and who are familiar with current and traditional management approaches. It provides graduates with advanced knowledge, skills and competencies in the field of hotel management, and with the analytical training they need in an increasingly competitive environment. The program includes courses in management and organization, human resources, accounting, economics, finance, production and marketing, and thus offers opportunities for students wishing to pursue a career in both general business and tourism and hotel management. A key goal of this program is to train graduates who are sensitive to intercultural differences, have a command of European languages, and have the effective communication skills to enable them to do business with international hotel chains and representatives.
