The John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University is pleased to offer a special advanced certificate program for K-12 music teachers. Courses are specifically designed with today’s music educator in mind, offering a thoughtful blend of theory and practice. Upon program completion, students will receive a certificate and transcript representing 15 credit hours of graduate work. In order to receive the advanced certificate, all 15 credits must be completed in a maximum of 15 months. Twelve credits can transfer into the Master of Arts in Music Education program. Along with the Music Education (Advanced Certificate), the Music department also offers the following options for graduate study: Certificate in Music Therapy, Master of Arts degrees in Music with a concentration in Composition, Music with a concentration in Music Education, and Music with a concentration in Music Therapy, a Master of Music degree in Performance, and a combined Bachelor’s / Master of Arts in Teaching in Music.
